Distribution in scandinavian waters
|Maximum length: 8-15 cm.|
Appearance: Dark coloured, often with a bushy appearance and claw-like branch tips. The darker bands on the main branches (best seen under a microscope) and notice the joints between the central cells. It resembles certain specie of the Polysiphonia family.
Depth: 0,5-20 m.
Environment: Commonly grows on larger and coarser algae, and on rocks and cliffs.
Classification: Ceramium rubrum is a member of the red algae group.
