Distribution in scandinavian waters

Maximum diametre: 1,2 cm. Appearance: Brick, rust or light red in colour. Individuals from deeper water can be yellow to yellow-brown in colour. Agglomerated individuals are divergent from the normally flat form and can be up to 2.5 cm in height. With only one gonad situated in the upper part of the tunic. The solitary flattened form with a peripherally attached tunic, dominates in scandinavian waters. Depth: 0-600 m. Environment: Usually found attached to cliffs, rocks and macroalgae. Classification: Dendrodoa grossularia belongs to the sea squirt group under the chordates.
