Shore crab

Distribution
Distribution in scandinavian waters

Maximum length: 7.6 cm.
Appearance: The shore crab is dark green, blue-green or grey-green in colour over its carapace and whitish-yellow to brick-red underneath. Boiled or sun dried they usually have a redish-brown colour.
Depth: 0-40 (200) m.
Environment: Commonly found on soft and hard bottoms.
Misc: Small shore and swimming crabs are very much alike.
Classification: The shore crab belongs to the crab group which is crustacean under the arthropods.
