Distribution in scandinavian waters

Maximum length: 9 cm.
Appearance: The grey-brown to yellow body is horisontally flat and has no rostrum between the eyes.
Depth: 0 - approx. 20 m.
Environment: Sand bottom.
Misc: The common shrimp is an important link in the food web on shallow sand bottoms.
Classification: The sand shrimp is a member of the shrimp group, a crustacean under the arthropods.
