Distribution
Distribution in scandinavian waters

Size: This species builds large patches and belts.
Appearance: Wall lichen is a characteristic feature amongst the cliff growing lichens with its orange-yellow colour.
Depth: Wall lichen is commonly found on those parts of cliffs that get splashed by waves.
Environment: The species finds a congenial environment on rocks and cliffs that get splashed by saltwater and fertilized by bird droppings. In addition, it is also found on the bark of trees, planking, walls and roof tiles. Thrives in sunny areas, but has a brighter orange-yellow colour when it grows on cliffs.
Classification: Wall lichen are part of the sac fungi group under the lichens.
