Japweeds journey to Sweden

The first finds of drifting japweed occurred in 1985 outside Fjällbacka. Loose plants or parts of have since been found along the whole of the west coast, from the Norwegian border in the north to Båstad in the Bay of Laholm to the south. Even the volume of loose and drifting japweed has increased in Swedish waters during the summer months.
