Scientific names: The Greek word kore means virgin or girl. In Greek mythology, Kore, the daughter of Demeter, who was forced to marry Hades, annually spent a third of her life underground as Persefone. Another possible explanation can comes from the Greek kore, meaning pupil (eye). The diminitive suffix -ella comes from Latin. Parallelos is Greek for parallel and gramma means written or drawn.
