Distribution
Distribution in scandinavian waters

Maximum length: 10 cm, carapace max. 4 cm.
Appearance: Yellow red in colour with dark markings, while the claws are a rusty brown and characteristic of the specie.
Depth: 0-30 m.
Environment: Amongst sea shells on soft to hard bottoms.
Classification: The common hermit crab is a member of the group ten-footed crustaceans under the arthropods.
