Ragworm

Way of life

Ragworms are large, mobile, free-living polychaetae. They live amongst the algae, between stones and on soft bottoms. On soft bottoms they usually dig downwards and build U-formed tunnels. Unlike the lugworm, they do not build piles of excrement around their holes.
