Pressing macroalgae

In contrast to terrestial plants, macroalgae is slimy. This "natural glue" makes them very suitable for pressing.

1. Lay a 100 g paper half way into a bowl of water. Thicker paper can be used if the alga is slimy or thin.

2. The alga is layed in a large bowl of water and rinsed thoroughly. Choose a plant that is not too big or part of a plant that is interesting.

3. Lay the alga in the bowl above the half floating paper. Pull the paper up out of the water with the alga on it and if possible hang up on a wall to dry for a few minutes.
