Distribution in scandinavian waters
Maximum length: 20 cm.
Appearance: Dark red in colour. Builds dense and finely branched bushes. Very similar in appearance to Ceramium rubrum. This family has several closely related members that are difficult to distinguish between.
Depth: 0-20 m.
Environment: Often found growing on larger algae, cliffs and rocks.
Classification: Polysiphonia is a member of the red alga group.
