Dead men´s fingers -
Alcyonium digitatum

Scientific names: Alkyonion is greek for a sponge because of its likeness to a kingfisher´s nest. It was thought that these birds built their nest of sea foam. Alkyon is greek for sea foam. The latin digitatus means toe or finger furnished.

Other scientific names: Alcyonium norvegicum.
