More about the dahlia anemone

Dahlia anemone

Way of life

The dahlia anemone is a solitary anthozoa. The stem is furnished with a number of sucker-like discs that quite often pick up gravel and shell shards.

What it eats

The dahlia anemone catches and eats organisms that come close to its tentacles. The stinging cells are potent enough to kill quite large fish.
