
Distribution in scandinavian waters

Maximum length: 3 cm.
Appearance: Of this class, only three specie are
present in Sweden. This species has a pronounced checkered
pattern on its shell and the aperture is devoid of a
thickened outer lip.
Depth: 0-15 m.
Environment: Found in crevices and on rocks, quite
often on shallow muddy bottoms. Digs down into the
sediment.
Classification: The Dogwhelk belongs to a group known as the
neogastropods, under the molluscs.
