Distribution
Distribution in scandinavian waters

Maximum length: 8-15 cm.
Appearance: Green in colour. The form resembles a lobate and wrinkled leaf. Under a microscope it is possible to see that it is built up of two cell layers (compare with monostroma_grevillei).
Depth: 0-1 m.
Environment: Sea-lettuce generally grows on cliffs and rocks or on large algae.
Misc: It is annual and reproduction takes place from June to Augusti. Sea-lettuce is edible.
Classification: Sea-lettuce is a member of the green algae group.
