Lion´s mane jellyfish -
Cyanea capillata

Scientific name: It is uncertain where the släkt name Cyanea means. It is possible that originates from greek mythology - Cyane. Cyane was a sicilian nymph who resisted Hades when he kidnapped a friend, Kore. Another possibility is Cyanee, the daughter of the river Meander. The latin word cyaneus means dark blue. Capillus is latin for hair.

Other scientific names: Cyanea arctica.
