Blue-rayed limpet

Distribution
Distribution in scandinavian waters

Maximum length: 3 cm.
Appearance: Brown-yellow in colour with blue close-set ridges radiating from the apex towards the outer edge.
Depth: 1-27 m.
Environment: Blue-rayed limpets live on large algae in exposed positions, mainly specie of the laminaria family (kelp, oarweed and sugar wrack). Kelp is edible and can be used as food.
Classification: The Blue-rayed limpet is a member of the gastopods under the molluscs.
